Pavel: Combating drugs and crime in Prague is our priority
Prague, February 18 (Hibya) – Czech President Petr Pavel discussed measures to address the rising cases of drug use and petty crime around the Andel metro station in Prague.
President Pavel stated, “The area around the Andel metro station is not a place where Prague residents enjoy spending time. Here, drugs and petty crime are a daily reality. Therefore, at the Prague 5 Municipality, together with city officials and experts, we discussed how to more effectively combat the growing drug addiction – from supporting contact centers to strengthening preventive efforts and introducing the necessary legal regulations.”
Pavel emphasized that civil society organizations play a critical role in preventive work and in addressing the consequences caused by drugs, noting that the urgency of the issue is increasing and that he will continue to focus on it.
