Merz: Europe’s strength depends on a competitive industry
Brussels, February 13 (Hibya) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized that Europe can only assert itself if it is economically strong and highlighted the importance of a competitive industrial base.
In a statement following a meeting with European Union leaders, Chancellor Merz said that the foundation of the continent’s economic strength lies in a competitive industry. Merz stated: “Europe can only express itself if it is economically strong – and this strength depends on a competitive industrial base.”
Merz underlined that Europe is united in its determination to act quickly and decisively, and thanked the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission for hosting the meeting: “We are united in our determination to act swiftly and decisively. I thank Ursula von der Leyen for this constructive meeting.”
