Macron: Women’s rights are never permanently guaranteed
Paris, March 8 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron said in a message released on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8 that the struggle for women’s rights requires constant effort.
French President Emmanuel Macron issued a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8.
In his statement, Macron said: “Women’s rights are never permanently guaranteed. These rights are won through constant struggle, courage and vigilance that must never weaken. On March 8 – as on every other day of the year.”
Macron paid tribute to all women who keep this struggle alive every day, saying: “Those who dedicate themselves, who take action, who raise their voices when necessary, and who inspire present and future generations with their courage and commitment.”
Macron stated that he is thinking especially today about women living amid wars and conflicts affecting the world: “As the first victims of violence, they are also indispensable actors of peace, resistance and reconstruction everywhere. While some seek to destroy, they rebuild. While some seek to subjugate, they stand tall.”
Expressing solidarity and admiration for Iranian women, Macron said: “Their courage commands respect and reminds the world that freedom can never be silenced. The struggle for women’s rights is a universal struggle. It is the struggle of both women and men, and it concerns us all.”
Macron concluded his statement by saying: “This struggle will continue. Until equality becomes a reality everywhere, France will be there to act.”
