European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said two additional new clusters had been opened in the negotiation process for Ukraine’s EU membership. She said two new clusters had been opened in the EU accession negotiation process.

Kos said in a statement on social media that despite Russia’s attacks, Ukraine continued to make progress on the path toward EU membership, adding: “Today, we confirmed this progress by opening two more negotiating clusters, ‘Internal Market and Competitiveness’ and ‘Inclusive Growth.’”

Kos said the reforms to be carried out under these clusters would help Ukraine prepare for reconstruction, attract investment, modernize its economy and create jobs, stressing that they would continue to support the country’s progress toward EU membership.

Kos said: “We are determined to continue supporting Ukraine, one of the countries at the forefront of the process, and to sustain this progress.”
