Costa: Free and fair trade increases prosperity
Brussels, July 12 (Hibya) – European Union (EU) Council President Antonio Costa stated that free and fair trade increases prosperity.
In his statement, Costa said that free and fair trade boosts prosperity, creates jobs, and strengthens supply chains.
“Tariffs are taxes,” Costa said, adding:
“They fuel inflation, create uncertainty, and hinder economic growth. We will continue to build strong trade partnerships around the world. The EU remains united, ready, and determined to protect our interests, fully supporting President Ursula von der Leyen and the Commission’s efforts to reach a fair agreement with the United States.”
