Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali attended the 2nd African Political Parties Summit and delivered a speech under the theme "Governance for Growth."

Expressing his satisfaction that the summit was being hosted in Addis Ababa, which he described as the capital of Africa, Abiy Ahmed emphasized the importance of unity, accountability and inclusive governance in line with the Medemer approach.

Stating that political leadership must improve people's lives, Abiy Ahmed said political parties should move beyond electoral competition, reach a consensus on long-term national priorities that remain unaffected by changes in government, and work together in the country's interests.

Abiy Ahmed also highlighted the importance of investing in the next generation of leaders, noting that young leaders should be given opportunities to assume responsibility and develop their capabilities.

Abiy Ahmed stated that Ethiopia had opened its training programs through the African Leadership Excellence Academy to political parties across the continent and reaffirmed the continued responsibility to build a better future for the people.
