Putin Says Russia Will Reuse Experimental Missile
Moscow, November 23 (Hibya) - Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia will continue testing the Oreshnik non-nuclear ballistic missile, including under combat conditions.
During a meeting with the Ministry of Defense leadership and representatives of the military-industrial complex, Putin said: "The tests of 'Oreshnik' were successful, and I congratulate you on this. As previously mentioned, depending on the nature and level of the security threats created for Russia, we will continue these tests, including under combat conditions. Moreover, we have a stock of such systems ready for use."
The President emphasized: "This system is, above all, the result of your work, based on the most modern and advanced developments."
The President also highlighted that the development of the "Oreshnik" system demonstrates the potential of Russia's missile engineering school.
At the same conference, Russian Strategic Missile Forces Commander Sergei Karakayev stated that the missiles could strike targets across Europe.
Karakayev added: "Depending on the targets and range of this weapon, it can strike targets throughout Europe, distinguishing it from other types of long-range precision-guided weapons."
Previously, Putin announced that, in response to the use of American and British long-range weapons on Russian territory, the Russian Armed Forces launched an attack on Ukraine using the newest non-nuclear intermediate-range ballistic missile, 'Oreshnik.'
