Metsola expresses support for South Cyprus
Brussels, 2 December (Hibya) – European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced that she met with the President of the House of Representatives of South Cyprus, Annita Demetriou, and discussed with Cypriot parliamentary representatives ways to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness and improve citizens’ quality of life.
Metsola met with Demetriou and emphasized that the meeting was an important step in South Cyprus’ preparations for assuming the Presidency of the EU Council.
She also stated that she held a productive meeting with Europarliament group leaders and representatives of the South Cyprus Parliament. The discussions focused on strengthening Europe’s competitiveness, improving citizens’ lives, and ensuring the security of the Union.
Following the meeting, Metsola said that talks would continue with the aim of deepening interparliamentary ties and maintaining cooperation during the upcoming Cypriot Presidency.
