Lahbib: We need gender equality now
Brussels, December 2 (Hibya) – EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that gender equality is needed not gradually, but now.
Commissioner Lahbib noted that the European Institute for Gender Equality’s (EIGE) 2025 Gender Equality Index shows progress, with the EU gaining more than 10 points since 2010.
However, she stressed that at this pace, achieving full gender equality would take 50 years. “We need gender equality now, not gradually,” she said.
