Israel Strikes Eastern Lebanon
Stockholm, November 23 (Hibya) - The Israeli army issued a mandatory evacuation order for certain areas of Lebanon's capital, Beirut, on Friday evening, concluding a day filled with bloody attacks that resulted in numerous deaths and injuries across the country.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that, over the past 24 hours, 62 fatalities were confirmed in attacks nationwide. The director of a university hospital in the Baalbek region was killed in an airstrike.
Meanwhile, rocket attack sirens were heard in northern Israel, in Haifa and border areas.
In the northern Israeli port city of Haifa and in several areas near the southern Lebanese border, sirens warning of incoming rockets were sounded.
The alerts came amid intense clashes as Hezbollah fighters engaged in fierce battles with Israeli military forces in southern Lebanon, while Israel conducted waves of airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburbs and, more recently, its central regions.
