Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi spoke with his Japanese counterpart Motegi
Tehran, 2 December (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi held a telephone conversation.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi held a telephone call to discuss bilateral relations and international developments.
At the beginning of the conversation, Araghchi congratulated Motegi on his reappointment as Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Reviewing the latest developments regarding Iran’s nuclear program and the actions and positions of the United States and the European trio, Araghchi stated that the U.S. must restore Iran’s trust and return to diplomacy.
The Japanese Foreign Minister affirmed his country’s commitment to playing a constructive role in strengthening peace and stability in the West Asia region and reiterated Tokyo’s support for political initiatives aimed at resolving regional and international issues.
The two ministers also discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and consular matters.
