Fletcher: We stand in solidarity with everyone affected by the flooding disaster
UN Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher stated that more than a thousand people lost their lives in the devastating floods in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, and announced that the United Nations is ready to support emergency response efforts.
UN Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator Fletcher evaluated the devastating floods that occurred in four Asian countries. In a social media post, he said: “The devastating floods in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia… More than a thousand people have died, and millions have been affected. We stand in solidarity with everyone struck by this disaster.”
Fletcher also noted that the United Nations is ready to support emergency response efforts in cooperation with national authorities and international partners.
